An Immersive Dialogue Workshop with In Your Shoes

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This in-person interactive session will allow participants to experience In Your Shoes (IYS), a performance-based dialogue methodology created by Georgetown’s Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics. In the IYS process, participants have deep, open conversations around a given topic and then present one another’s perspectives. Through this exchange, participants practice close listening and embodiment as a way to understand the perspectives of another. Session participants will practice exercises rooted in call-and-response, intergroup dialogue, theater, and movement techniques. As part of this unique workshop experience, interested participants will have the opportunity to prepare and present a dialogue at the second IYS session at TLISI. This session is open to anyone interested in learning more about the IYS experience; participants do not need any prior performance experience or need to attend both sessions to participate!

This session will be facilitated by Ijeoma Njaka and Rachel Gartner (Red House / Laboratory for Global Performance & Politics). NOTE: this session is in-person only and will not be streamed.
